I was born (1956) next door to a radio ham, I never knew him as he died when I was very young and it was not until I was lecenced (1983) that I found out about the guy next door, So maybe radio waves were in my blood from the start.

Main intrest in the hobby is emergency communications and have been a member of our local RAYNET group since being licenced, and was thier secretary for a lot of years. Other intrests over the years have been, Packet, Fast scan TV, DXing, Contesting, Special events. My full licence call sign was first used marine mobile in the mediterainian while sailing with some fellow radio hams. Oh and by the way I can not spell for the life of me, please except this slight fault.

My 21 year old Step Daughter (Rachel) passed her Foundation Radio Ham Exam on the 10th Dec 2012, she is now M6JRD

2Nr FT 8900's one for shack one for car, Quad band sets, 10m, 6m, 2m & 70cms

ex pmr set on 4m
Various hand held both dual band and single banders on 2m and 70cms
When in the shack listen to 145.500, 433.00 (US rpt), 51.930, 70.450 and 29.600., of course if not talking someware on the bands.

Verticals on all bands as I only have a small garden, 6m, 4m, 2m & 70cms on top of 30ft mast at side of house.
20m end fed with counterpoise on test.

Only working computer I have at the moment is this aging HP Pavilion Laptop.
