I need some opinions.
I currently have a Mosley TA-33Jr. with the Sr. trap upgrade, and a Cushcraft 3-element 6 meter Yagi on my tower. The antennas have been up for around 10 years. They are in need of some maintenance, though the Mosley works great. The Cushcraft on the other hand, is WAY out of adjustment and will need to come down to be fixed.

I will likely need to bring both beams down and replace the coax, and re-tune the 6 meter beam. My question is should I ditch the Cushcraft and the Mosley in favor of a nice shiny new SteppIR 3-element Yagi with the 6 meter passive add-on. The wife has already approved the fund expenditure, but I'm not sure that I will gain enough to justify getting rid of the Mosley.

Either I drop the coin on the SteppIR, or I retune the Cushcraft, and replace coax, using the money for other projects.

WWYOHD? (What Would You Other Hams DO)

Thanks for any input.

I would clean up the antennas and do maintenance on them.  Use the money for other Ham Projects.

I would clean them up. If you find while cleaning them up that the are beyond reasonable repair then you can get the other ones since the expense is already approved.

If you were / are satisfied with the performance of the existing antennas and they ain't eating anything why change ?
Granted the stepper is a good antenna but if the others were doing what you wanted, by all means bring them down and service them and re-use them and use the fund's to add to the farm (like maybe a good vertical or something).
If you have the real estate, put up a 160 meter loop and get a tuner and work all band's or what ever.
I've never been a big fan of trapped antennas but they do have their applications and you have to work with what you have sometimes especially when it comes to real estate.

 Hello,
     Good day,
I would keep the Mosley and Cushcraft antennas and refurbish them,
get some new good grade coaxial cable, you will not find a better made
antenna then Mosley, you could up-grade the 6 mtr antenna to a larger
one with more gain -save a lot of $$$ and hassle due to the moving parts
in the Stepper IR,my friend down the road had the 6 ele stepper IR ant
up for 2 yrs,it now sits in a pile next to his garage-the motors shorted
out, the elememts froze up/broke -they should test those antennas next
to Lake Superior  Sad.for 2 yrs.not saying they are bad,but the Big Lake
Never is calm or forgiving-those moving parts will give you  )*&$##@@!!
           Good luck and DX.
