Hey, all of you CW enthusiasts out there... the annual SKCC K3Y Anniversary Event is in progress now, through the end of January. If you aren't currently a member of SKCC (why not?), join up and join the fun! (I just worked K3Y/2 and K3Y/3 this morning). More info: http://www.skccgroup.com/k3y/K3Y-index.php

I need to get my SKCC number (228) back on the air. Look for me running lower power (25 watts and down) and some QRP!

I managed to get K3Y/8 and K3Y/1 this morning. It is fairly slow going, because I don't have a lot of time to devote to radio right now. That said, just six more US call sign districts to go for a clean sweep. So far:
K3Y/1 K3Y/2 K3Y/3 K3Y/8
I still need /0, /4, /5, /6, /7 and /9.

Thank goodness for insomnia! I got two more K3Y stations this morning: K3Y/5 K3Y/7 Plus, I worked Cuba on SSB last night, and *almost* got Tokyo, Japan on 40 Meters (from Florida) this morning. If only the bands had been a little better, or I had that 600 watt amp... I still need /0, /4, /6 and /9 for a basic sweep. Howard, AC4FS SKCC# 462

I got /4 and /6 yesterday afternoon, although they aren't showing up in the log yet. I just need two more K3Y stations to complete the basic sweep:
K3Y/0 K3Y/9
My goal for this event is to complete the requirements for basic sweep first, then try to go after as many K3Y stations on different bands as I can, and to also try to get the KH6 and KL7 endorsements, and as many continents as I can.

I worked /0 and /9 tonight. Had to work /0 twice, the 20 Meter band pretty much collapsed after his exchange, before he got mine. I got him on the 10 Meter band though I also worked the /4 again, this time on a different band, plus two more SKCC members, just for their numbers. All in all, it was a good radio night. Had to roll up the coax though, we're expecting severe weather in our parts tomorrow morning. Howard, AC4FS SKCC# 462
