Just in time, for my retirment. Let me see, I want a microwave oven, an entertainment conssol, a flat screen, a LAPTOP! I just cannot wait until I can veg out in a starbucks, with a HEATHKIT laptop, with all those college kids got their stor bought foriegn made thimgs, I, have my AMERICAN MADE, for I would have made it myself computer that blows away the others by it's mere presence amoung them. And, of course, my retro HF rig, annnnd all the HEATHKIT trimmings like an antenne tuner, a VTVM, dummy load, etc. etc.

Just a good cross section of equipment like we had over 35 years would be nice. Not asking much.

Yes, they are. Go to their website, and look up contack info. The big cheese said most if not all calls were from hams. I specifically asked for an updated hw101 with the warc baaaannds. TUBES! I said I wanted TUBES! We also discussed why they went out of business. It seemed heathkit at the time could only offer outdated gear when commercially made was superior. I DO remember my Heathkit 2-Meter Handheld. It was large, was crystal controlled, and an ICOM 2AT was, well, superior. And the only full solid state annnd moderen HF rig was not a kit. It was a Heath. The man said ham gear will be available by the end of the year. Xmas time.I for one, want old school, updated with the new bands. So what if the vfo is drifty. So what if it a pain to tune annd uses TUBES! I use a YAESU FT 101 F just so I can have the audio on transmit and the glow of TUBES in a darkened shack. I also said I wanted to see at least a code practive oscillator, an antenna tuner and a dummy load. Things a ham has around the shack. I also said I want a HEATHKIT LAPTOP! I want to strut into Starbucks, and open up my Heathkit Laptop and gloat. I also want to turn on a Heathkit Hi Def TV, with a Heathkit remote, have a Heathkit garage door opener clipped to the visor and an in dash Heathkit stereo. I am not asking for much. Wait! got a call coming over my Heathkit cell phone/Ipod/GPS/video/computer/internet access or whatever device I do not currently own but will say Heathkit on it.

Here's what they need to produce: a hybrid, tube final, 25W, 40M SSB-CW transceiver kit, with analog dial and internal power supply in crinkle Heathkit green with a rounded corner case for about $300.
I'd be on that instantly
